Via Pontica

The Transborder Marathon Via Pontica is held annually and offers a unique running experience crossing Bulgaria and Romania. Participants run along a scenic route near Lake Durankulak, the northern Bulgarian beaches, and the Romanian coastal villages Vama Veche and 2 Mai, without stopping at the border. The event includes distances of 28 km, 16 km, and a children's race of 2 km, with the finish at the beach near the village of Krapets. The organizer is the 'Green Step' club, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and adventure sports.

Children run free of charge and do not cross the Romanian border. Control times: 4:30 hours for 28 km and 3:00 hours for 16 km. The fee includes fruits, water, electronic timing, bus transport for 16 km, medical assistance, and toilets at the start/finish. There is an option to change the distance for an additional fee and price difference. T-shirts with original designs are available for an extra charge. Two running distances (16 km and 28 km) and a children's 2 km race; transportation to the start points; registration and fees; prizes for the top three finishers; includes coastal routes and crossing the border with Romania.
